Archives Committee

Purpose

     The purpose of the Archives Committee is to act as a liaison committee between the members of the Board or Annual Meeting and the educational agency or institution that serves as the repository for the Association.

Selection

     The Archives Committee will be appointed annually by the current President of the Association.

Responsibilities

  1. Collect a copy of each paper presented at each Annual Meeting and deliver it to the educational agency or institution that maintains the Archives of the Association.
  2. Obtain a report on the status and operation of the Archives from the institution that maintains the Archives, presenting that information and any other relevant information in an annual report to the fall meeting of the Board.
  3. Submit information to the editor of the Researcher for dissemination to the membership regarding the availability of material in the Archives and the procedures for obtaining copies of Archives materials.

NOTE: The MSERA Archives are maintained by Mississippi State University. Papers are cross referenced by all authors. Photocopies or facsimiles may be obtained by writing or calling the Special Collections Room, Mitchell Memorial Library, Mississippi State, MS 39762, telephone number (662) 325-7680. To expedite service to Association members, photocopies will be mailed or facsimile copies transmitted and charges billed.
