MSERA OPERATIONS MANUAL: Editors

Editor, MSERA World Wide Web Site

Purpose

     The MSERA World Wide Web (WWW) site is the electronic medium for access to information about MSERA. The purpose of the WWW site is to enhance communication about the organization and its activities among the membership and to interested parties around the world.

     The editor assumes responsibility for the compilation, editing, and posting of information on the WWW site on a timely basis as described herein and with the approval of the Board.

Selection

     The editor of the WWW site is appointed each year by the President.

Responsibilities

  1. The editor will arrange for the location and maintenance of the WWW site on a server.
  2. The editor will coordinate with the editor of the MSERA Researcher, the editor of Research in the Schools, the editor of the Proceedings, the Program Committee chair, the Local Arrangements Committee chair, Officers of the Board of Directors, and other members to obtain relevant information--preferably in electronic form--for updating entries on the WWW site.
  3. The editor will arrange for the editing and posting of information relevant to the organization on a timely basis.
  4. The editor shall serve as a member of the Publications and Communications Committee.
  5. The editor will report to the Board of the Association at its meetings.
  6. The editor will formulate a budget for the calendar year, to be submitted to the President in January and presented at the spring meeting of the Board

    The editor will submit bills for expenses incurred in maintaining or upgrading the WWW site to the Secretary-Treasurer within 30 days after receiving the invoice or receipt. The MSER Foundation will provide financial assistance for this expenditure.
